AnalyZ Solutions ("we", "us", "our") operates the platform available at analyz.solutions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. This is managed by Supabase, our authentication provider. We do not store plain-text passwords.

Authentication Logs

Our authentication provider (Supabase) automatically records certain technical data when you interact with your account, including:

  • Your IP address
  • Timestamps of sign-up, login, and password reset events
  • Browser and device metadata

These logs are retained by Supabase for security and fraud prevention purposes. You can review Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.

Data You Upload

Files and datasets you upload to AnalyZ are processed directly in your browser wherever possible. Certain file types (SPSS/Stata parsing, Word/PDF text extraction) are transmitted to our server, held in memory for the duration of that request, and automatically discarded once it completes. We do not write your uploaded data to disk, log it, or retain it after your session ends.

Local Device Storage (Optional)

By default, your session (dataset, transcripts, and analysis state) exists only in your browser's active memory and is cleared when you close the tab. You may optionally enable "Save on this device" in the sidebar, which stores a working copy of your session in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) so you can resume it after closing and reopening the browser on the same device.

  • This setting is off by default — nothing is saved locally without your explicit action.
  • Data saved this way stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
  • It automatically expires and is cleared after 24 hours, regardless of whether you're still using the device.
  • You can turn this off at any time from the same toggle, which immediately clears any data already saved locally.

You can also download a .analyz.json session file at any time, which is saved directly to your device outside the browser and is unaffected by this setting.

Data Connected via API

If you use the API connector to pull data from a third-party platform (such as KoBo Toolbox, ODK Central, REDCap, or Google Sheets), your request is routed through an anonymising proxy hosted on our infrastructure. The proxy fetches the data on your behalf and returns it directly to your browser session. No data retrieved via API is written to disk or retained by AnalyZ after your session ends.

API tokens you enter are held in browser memory only for the duration of your session and are never transmitted to or stored by AnalyZ. If you choose to sign in to KoBo Toolbox with your username and password instead of a token, your credentials are transmitted once, over an encrypted connection, to our proxy — which uses them solely to request a token directly from KoBo on your behalf, and does not log, store, or retain them. The resulting token is then held in browser memory only, the same as if you had entered a token directly.

AnalyZense Project Data

If you use the Sense Making module, the following information is stored persistently in our database (Supabase) and associated with your account:

  • Project names and descriptions you create
  • Context text you write for each project
  • Analysis results you add to a project — specifically the aggregated output tables, statistics, and auto-generated interpretations. Raw dataset rows are never stored.
  • Your interpretation mode preference per project
  • The full conversation history between you and the AI (your questions and the AI's responses)
  • Monthly usage counts (number of interpretations and follow-up questions used)

This data persists across sessions until you delete the project or your account. You can delete individual projects, analyses, or conversations at any time from within the Sense Making module.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To allow you to log in securely
  • To send account-related emails (verification, password reset) via Resend
  • To investigate security incidents using authentication logs
  • To provide the Sense Making feature — aggregated analysis outputs and your project context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate interpretations. Raw dataset rows are never sent.
  • To track monthly Sense Making usage against your plan's allowance

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Supabase — authentication, session management, and persistent storage of AnalyZense project data (Privacy Policy)
  • Anthropic — AI model provider for the Sense Making feature. When you use Sense Making, aggregated analysis outputs and your project context are sent to Anthropic's API. Raw dataset rows are never transmitted. Anthropic may retain API inputs and outputs in accordance with their data usage policies. (Privacy Policy)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (Privacy Policy)
  • Vercel — frontend hosting and serverless functions (Privacy Policy)
  • DigitalOcean — backend API infrastructure. Certain file processing operations (SPSS/Stata parsing, document text extraction, and API data proxying) are handled by a FastAPI server hosted on DigitalOcean. Files and data transmitted to this server are held in memory only for the duration of the request and are never written to disk or retained. (Privacy Policy)
  • Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics, loaded only if you consent (Privacy Policy)
  • Razorpay — payment processing for Starter and Pro subscriptions. Razorpay handles your payment details directly; we do not receive or store your card or bank information (Privacy Policy)

We use Google Analytics, only with your consent, to understand aggregate usage patterns of the platform. No personally identifiable information is collected — only anonymised metrics such as page views, session duration, and click events. See Section 4, Cookies for how this consent works.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, split into two categories:

Essential cookies (always on)

These are required for the site to function and cannot be turned off:

  • Supabase authentication session — keeps you signed in and secures your account
  • Razorpay checkout session — required to process payment when you subscribe

Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

  • Google Analytics (GA4) — helps us understand which pages and features are used, so we can improve the product. IP addresses are anonymised.

You can accept or decline analytics cookies when you first visit the site, and change your choice at any time using the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Declining analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use AnalyZ Solutions. We do not use marketing, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.

5. Data Retention

Your account information is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@analyz.solutions.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and token-based authentication. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

AnalyZ is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
