AnalyZ Solutions ("we", "us", "our") operates the platform available at analyz.solutions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
When you register, we collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. This is managed by Supabase, our authentication provider. We do not store plain-text passwords.
Our authentication provider (Supabase) automatically records certain technical data when you interact with your account, including:
These logs are retained by Supabase for security and fraud prevention purposes. You can review Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
Files and datasets you upload to AnalyZ are processed directly in your browser wherever possible. Certain file types (SPSS/Stata parsing, Word/PDF text extraction) are transmitted to our server, held in memory for the duration of that request, and automatically discarded once it completes. We do not write your uploaded data to disk, log it, or retain it after your session ends.
By default, your session (dataset, transcripts, and analysis state) exists only in your browser's active memory and is cleared when you close the tab. You may optionally enable "Save on this device" in the sidebar, which stores a working copy of your session in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) so you can resume it after closing and reopening the browser on the same device.
You can also download a .analyz.json session file at any time, which is saved directly to your device outside the browser and is unaffected by this setting.
If you use the API connector to pull data from a third-party platform (such as KoBo Toolbox, ODK Central, REDCap, or Google Sheets), your request is routed through an anonymising proxy hosted on our infrastructure. The proxy fetches the data on your behalf and returns it directly to your browser session. No data retrieved via API is written to disk or retained by AnalyZ after your session ends.
API tokens you enter are held in browser memory only for the duration of your session and are never transmitted to or stored by AnalyZ. If you choose to sign in to KoBo Toolbox with your username and password instead of a token, your credentials are transmitted once, over an encrypted connection, to our proxy — which uses them solely to request a token directly from KoBo on your behalf, and does not log, store, or retain them. The resulting token is then held in browser memory only, the same as if you had entered a token directly.
If you use the Sense Making module, the following information is stored persistently in our database (Supabase) and associated with your account:
This data persists across sessions until you delete the project or your account. You can delete individual projects, analyses, or conversations at any time from within the Sense Making module.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
We use Google Analytics, only with your consent, to understand aggregate usage patterns of the platform. No personally identifiable information is collected — only anonymised metrics such as page views, session duration, and click events. See Section 4, Cookies for how this consent works.
We use a small number of cookies, split into two categories:
These are required for the site to function and cannot be turned off:
You can accept or decline analytics cookies when you first visit the site, and change your choice at any time using the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Declining analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use AnalyZ Solutions. We do not use marketing, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.
Your account information is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@analyz.solutions.
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and token-based authentication. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
AnalyZ is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
